Riding the Bus by Jack Bell

In 1964 I was stationed in Korea at a defensive position overlooking the south side of the Ingim River. Anytime you wanted to go the PX or the Rec Center you had to ride the bus. One day when I was riding the bus someone kept hollering at me from the back of the bus. It was Jerry Bell. He was stationed on the north side of the Ingim with a tank battalion.

The Woodsman by Jack Bell

In either 1958 or 1959 we lived on a place down the road towards Centerville from the old Adkins place. One of Cecil's older brothers brought him down and dropped him off with just a backpack and his bow and arrows. He headed off into the woods and stayed gone for three straight days just living off the land. I think he stayed by the creek on the old slew not to far from Highway 7.
